Names of the Celts
Hey there kiddo! So, you know how people have names, right? Well, each group of people or tribe also has a name that they go by. One group of people who lived a long time ago were called the Celts.
The Celts had different names for themselves depending on where they lived and what language they spoke. Some of these names were Gaelic, Britonnic, and Goidelic.
For example, the people who lived in Ireland and spoke Gaelic called themselves Gaels, while the people in Scotland and spoke Goidelic called themselves Scots.
Each tribe of Celts also had their own unique name, like the Brigantes in England or the Votadini in Scotland.
So just like how you have a name, these groups of people also had names for themselves!
