Nanopore battery

Okay kiddo, let's talk about something called a nanopore battery. First, do you know what a battery is? It's a thing that makes electricity so we can use it to power stuff like toys, phones, and other gadgets.

Now, imagine a teeny tiny hole called a nanopore. It's so small that you can't even see it with your eyes, you need a special microscope to see it. This nanopore is filled with a special kind of liquid called electrolyte.

When we put two metal plates on either side of this nanopore - one plate that has positive charge (+) and the other one has negative charge (-) - it creates a tiny electric current that flows through the nanopore. This electric current can be used to power things like your toys and gadgets!

The cool thing about a nanopore battery is that it's really small and lightweight because the nanopores themselves are so tiny. Plus, they can store a lot of energy for their size, which is great for making things like phones and laptops last longer.

Scientists are still working on making nanopore batteries even better, but hopefully, one day we can all have gadgets that last longer and weigh less because of these teeny tiny little holes.
