Narcissistic rage and narcissistic injury are terms used to describe how someone with a lot of narcissism (a personality disorder where someone behaves very selfishly and thinks very highly of themselves) responds when someone does something to hurt their feelings or challenge their egos. Narcissistic rage is the anger and emotional outburst that often results when someone with a lot of narcissism is emotionally attacked or invalidated. Narcissistic injury is the deep wound to the person's ego that is caused by the attack or invalidation. Usually, this rage and injury is expressed through shouting, blame, and insult. People with this disorder will often act out with aggression and can even become violent.
