National Institute of Food and Agriculture

The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) is an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). They are in charge of helping everyone have enough food to eat and making sure the food we eat is healthy. They do this by researching different ways of growing food, helping farmers get the supplies they need, providing money to schools and universities to do research about food and agriculture, and working with community organizations to make sure people all over the U.S. have the food they need. They also work with other government agencies and organizations to make sure the food we eat is safe and healthy and to protect our environment from any harm caused by farming or raising animals for food.
