Native American disease and epidemics

Native Americans are people who lived in America before Europeans came to the continent. When Europeans arrived, they brought with them many diseases that Native Americans had never seen before, like smallpox, measles and influenza. These diseases were like a sickness epidemic - they spread quickly among the Native Americans, making lots of them become very sick and some even die. When Native Americans got these new diseases, they had no immunity because their bodies had never seen them before, so the sickness spread fast and killed many people.
