Nautch

Nautch is a type of dance that was popular in India a long time ago. It was usually performed by women for rich and important people like kings and princes. The dancers would wear fancy clothes and jewelry, and they would move their bodies in a very graceful way to music.

It was kind of like ballet, but with more emphasis on the hips and stomach. People would watch the nautch dancers for entertainment, like going to the movies or watching TV today.

But not everyone liked nautch dancing, some people thought it was inappropriate and in some places it was even banned. Nowadays, it's not as common to see nautch dancing, but you may still come across it in some traditional cultural events in India.
