ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Navaratna

Navaratna is a really special word that means “nine gems” in a language called Sanskrit. It's like having a big treasure box that has nine shiny gems inside!

But these gems aren't just any old rocks you can find outside. These gems are special because each one is meant to represent a particular kind of skill or knowledge that is important to have in life.

For example, one gem might represent great strength and courage, while another might represent being really smart and being able to solve problems quickly. There's also a gem that represents being good at making things with your hands, and another one that represents being able to speak and write well.

So, the Navaratna is a group of nine people who are each really good at one of these special skills or kinds of knowledge. When they work together, they can do amazing things that they might not be able to do on their own!

It's kind of like how a soccer team has players with different strengths – some are really fast runners, others are good at kicking the ball accurately, and others are great at defense. When the players work together and use their unique skills, the team can score a lot of goals and win games!

So, the Navaratna is like a special team of really talented people who work together to do really amazing things. It's a really cool idea, and people have been talking about it for thousands of years!
