Naveta

Naveta is like a big house that people used to live in a long, long time ago. It looks like a big shoe or a boat made out of rocks. Each naveta is made of two parts, a bigger part where people lived and a smaller part where they kept their animals or things they needed. Navetas were built by the Talayotic people who lived on the island of Menorca a very long time ago. They were made by putting big rocks one on top of the other, without any glue or cement. Navetas had roofs made out of branches, leaves, and mud so they could stay dry when it rained. Even though nobody lives in navetas now, people still go to see them to learn about how people used to live a long time ago.
