Nehalennia

Okay kiddo, let's talk about Nehalennia! Nehalennia was a goddess who was worshipped by people who lived a long, long time ago in a place called Gaul. Gaul was a big area in Europe that is now divided into lots of countries like France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Nehalennia was a goddess of trade and travel, which means that people who went on long trips or traded goods with other people would pray to her for good luck and protection. She was often depicted sitting on a throne, holding symbols of abundance like a cornucopia or fruit.

Archaeologists have found lots of statues and altars dedicated to Nehalennia in the Netherlands, where she was especially popular. They think that people would make offerings to her by leaving things like coins, fruit, and even ceramic figurines at her altars.

Even though Nehalennia isn't worshipped anymore, she is still remembered as an important goddess from long ago. She reminds us that people have always looked to higher powers for guidance and good fortune, no matter where they come from.
