Neo-shamanism

Neo-shamanism is a fancy way of saying people want to learn how to do the same things that indigenous people have done for a long time. These things might include talking to spirits, healing people, or using special rituals to connect with the natural world.

You might have heard of shamans before – they are special people in some cultures who are believed to have a very close connection to the spirit world. In some cultures, they are like doctor-healers, because they use special ceremonies and beliefs to help people with their physical and emotional problems.

Neo-shamanism is different from traditional shamanism because it’s less about specific cultural traditions and more about creating your own spiritual practices. People who practice neo-shamanism might go on “vision quests” to connect with their own spirit guides, or do certain ceremonies to connect with animals or plants.

Some people might think that neo-shamanism is a little bit like make-believe or playing pretend, but to those who practice it, it’s a very meaningful and spiritual way to live their lives. For people who are interested, it can be a way to connect with nature, find comfort in spiritual practices, and learn more about other cultures.
