Neon sign

A neon sign is like a special kind of light that can be made into shapes and words. It's made by taking a long, thin tube made of glass and filling it with gas, like neon gas or argon gas. Then, an electric current is passed through the gas inside the tube, which makes it glow brightly.

It's kind of like when you turn on a light switch and the light bulb glows, but instead of a regular light bulb, the tube is shaped like letters or a picture. For example, you might see the word "OPEN" in bright glowing letters in front of a store.

Neon signs are really cool because they're bright and colorful, and they can be shaped into any design you can imagine. They're often used for signs outside of stores or restaurants, or in art installations. But because they're made of glass and have electric current passing through them, they can be dangerous if you touch them, so it's important to never touch or play with a neon sign.
