Network biology

Okay kiddo, let’s talk about network biology.

You know how we have a body with different parts that work together to keep us healthy? That’s similar to what network biology studies, but instead of our body being the focus, we look at how different things like genes, proteins, and molecules work together in a big picture kind of way.

We all heard of family trees, right? Well, imagine if we could create a family tree for all the genes in our body or all the proteins that make up our cells. These family trees are called networks, and using network biology, scientists can analyze how all the parts of the networks are connected and work together to help our body function.

It’s kind of like a big puzzle because scientists have to figure out how all the different parts of the network interact with each other and what impact that has on our health. They also try to understand how diseases, like cancer or Alzheimer's, affect these networks so they can find better ways to treat and prevent these diseases.

So, network biology is like being a detective trying to piece together clues from different parts of the body to understand how everything works together!
