Network partition

A network partition is when two or more parts of a network become disconnected from each other. They can't communicate with computers on the other side of the partition, like when a bridge is broken. Imagine a group of friends at the playground playing together, but someone trips and breaks the bridge. Now the friends on either side of the bridge can’t easily talk or play together like before. That’s a network partition.
