Neurofibrillary tangles

Okay, so your brain is like a big library filled with books. Each book tells your brain how to do something, like how to remember things or move your body. The books are made up of tiny things called neurons, which are like little workers in the brain that send messages to each other.

Neurofibrillary tangles happen when some of these neurons get tangled up inside themselves. It’s kind of like when you try to untie a knot, but instead of getting untangled, the knot gets tighter and messier. When this happens in your brain, it can stop the neurons from working like they’re supposed to.

This can cause a lot of problems, like memory loss, trouble thinking or moving, and even changes in behavior. Scientists are still trying to figure out exactly what causes neurofibrillary tangles, but they know it’s a big part of illnesses like Alzheimer’s disease.

So, to sum it up, neurofibrillary tangles are like tangles in the little workers of your brain that can cause problems with memory and thinking.
