ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

New Marriage Law

Ok kiddo, so a new law has been made about getting married. It's like a rulebook for grown-ups who want to be married.

In the past, only a man and a woman could get married. But now, people who are the same gender can also get married. So, two ladies or two men can get married if they want to.

The law also says that people who are older than 18 years old can get married. They have to make sure that both people really want to be married and that they are not being forced or tricked into it.

The law also says that people who are not related to each other (like brothers and sisters) can get married.

Another thing is that people can choose whether they want to change their last name or not when they get married. They can keep their own names or change to their partner's name.

So, in short, this new law allows more people to get married and gives them more freedom to choose how they want to do it. It's all about love and respect!
