New realism (philosophy)

New realism is a philosophy that suggests that all of our ideas about the world around us is based on real things that exist in the world. It says that things like numbers, colors, shapes, and sizes are all real things that we can observe and measure, and that our ideas about them come from our senses and observations. For example, when you look at a blue sky, you're actually seeing the color blue, and it really exists in the world. New realism believes that we can use our senses and observations to discover the true nature of the world.
