ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Newton series

Okay kiddo, have you ever learned about Isaac Newton and how he discovered the laws of motion? Well, he also came up with something called the Newton series, which is a way to express complicated math problems in a simpler way.

Let's say you have a really big math problem, like adding up all the numbers from 1 to 100. That's a lot of numbers to add! But with the Newton series, we can break it down into smaller, easier steps.

First, we start with the number 1. Then we add 2 to that, which gives us 3. Then we add 3 to that, which gives us 6. We keep doing this, always adding the next number in the series to the sum we have so far.

So, we get 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + ... and keep going until we reach 100. This might seem like a lot of work, but it's actually pretty easy because we only have to do one addition at a time!

Using the Newton series, we turn a big, scary math problem into something simple and manageable. It's like breaking a big puzzle into smaller, easier pieces that we can solve one at a time. And that's how Newton series works!
