ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Niddah (Talmud)

Niddah is a special Jewish rule about when women have their period. It says that for parts of their month, they need to be extra careful about staying clean and not touching certain things.

When a woman has her period, she is considered to be “impure” for a little while. This means that she can’t touch certain things that are holy or special in the Jewish religion.

But don’t worry, it’s not forever! With time and proper washing, the impurity goes away and the woman can go back to touching those special things.

And just like other Jewish traditions, there are lots of rules to follow about how long the period lasts, how to stay clean, and how to become “pure” again. It may sound complicated, but it’s just another way to show respect for the Jewish faith and traditions.
