ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nitridization

Nitridization is like baking a cake, but instead of using flour and sugar, we use a special kind of gas called nitrogen to make things stronger and more durable. Imagine you have a piece of metal, like a cookie sheet. When you bake a cake on a cookie sheet, it gets all sticky and can be hard to clean. But if you put some nitrogen gas on the cookie sheet and heat it up, something cool happens. The nitrogen gas reacts with the metal and forms a super strong layer on top of it, like a really tough coating. This makes the metal harder, more scratch-resistant, and able to handle high temperatures without melting. It's like putting a coat of armor on the metal, making it much more durable and long-lasting. And just like baking a cake, you have to be careful when you nitridize things, because it can be dangerous if you don't do it right. But with the right tools and techniques, nitridization can be a great way to make things stronger and more useful!
