Nitrocellulose

Nitrocellulose is a funny word that means a material that is made from plants and chemicals. It looks like a piece of paper, but it's not the same as the paper you write on.

Nitrocellulose is made by taking a special kind of plant called cotton and putting it in a big pot with special chemicals. Then, the pot is heated up, and the chemicals and cotton mix together. After a while, the mixture turns into a gooey substance that is stretched out and dried.

This dried gooey substance is nitrocellulose. It's very flammable, which means it can easily catch on fire if it gets too hot. But it's also very strong and durable, so it's used for all kinds of things.

You might have seen nitrocellulose used for things like guitar picks or movie film. It's also used in fireworks to make them explode in pretty colors.

So, basically, nitrocellulose is a strong and flammable material that comes from plants and chemicals, and it's used for lots of different things.
