Nomenclature

Nomenclature is when you give people and things names. We use nomenclature every day! Pretty much everything that we talk about or refer to needs a name. For example, look at the people around you — each of them has a name like "Mom" or "Sister." That's nomenclature! We also use nomenclature for things like animals and objects. For example, a dog might be called a "Labrador Retriever" or a pencil a "No. 2 pencil."
