Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative

Okay kiddo, have you ever watched a movie where the bad guy has really dangerous weapons, like guns, bombs, and missiles? These weapons can hurt a lot of people and cause a lot of damage.

Now, imagine that there are some countries in the world that also have these weapons. They might have gotten them a long time ago when there was some fighting going on between countries. But, if too many countries have these dangerous weapons, everyone can get scared and worried all the time. That's why we want fewer countries to have them, and to make sure they don't get more.

So, some grown-ups came up with rules called "non-proliferation and disarmament." "Non-proliferation" means that we want to stop new countries from getting these weapons. "Disarmament" means that we want countries who have these weapons to get rid of them so that everyone can feel safer.

These grown-ups work really hard to get other countries to agree to follow these rules. They talk to each other and figure out how to help each other have a better life without worrying about getting hurt. Just like you and your friends might talk about how to play together without fighting or getting hurt.

So, when we hear about "non-proliferation and disarmament initiatives", it means that these grown-ups are trying even harder to make these rules work so that everyone can be happy and safe.
