ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Non-Pythagorean scale

Hey there little one! So, you know how we have different notes when we listen to music, right? Some notes sound happy and some sound sad.

Well, musicians use something called a scale to play different notes in a certain order. But there are different kinds of scales, and one of them is called a non-Pythagorean scale.

You see, a long time ago, a Greek guy named Pythagoras figured out that if you divide a string into certain lengths, you get different notes. But later on, some musicians found out that if you divide the string in different lengths, you get even more notes!

So, the non-Pythagorean scale is a scale that uses these extra notes that Pythagoras didn't know about. It makes the music sound even more beautiful and interesting!

But don't worry, we can still sing along and dance to it just like we would any other kind of music. Cool, huh?
