Non-invasive cerebellar stimulation is a way of using electricity to help the part of your brain called the cerebellum work better. The cerebellum is an important part of your brain that helps you do things like balance, walk, and remember things.
When people have a problem with their cerebellum, like difficulty balancing or trouble remembering things, non-invasive cerebellar stimulation can be used to help their brain work better. Non-invasive cerebellar stimulation uses a special machine called a neurostimulator to send a gentle electrical signal to the cerebellum. This helps the brain cells talk to each other and make better connections.
If you have a problem with your cerebellum, your doctor or therapist may recommend non-invasive cerebellar stimulation to help. You will sit in a special chair and wear a device on your head that sends the signal to your cerebellum. There may be other things you do during your session, like exercises or games. After your session, you will feel more alert and your balance and memory may improve.
