ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Non-measurable set

Okay, imagine you have a toy box with all kinds of toys in it, like blocks, cars, and dolls. Now, if you want to count how many toys you have in the toy box, you can just take them out one by one and count them. But some toys are very special and different from others. These special toys, we call them non-measurable sets.

Now, let's say you have a non-measurable set of toys in your toy box, like a toy ghost that has special powers. Even though the ghost is in the toy box, you can't take it out and count it like you would with other toys, because it's not like the other toys. It's not measurable in the same way.

Similarly, in math, a non-measurable set is a set of numbers that is not like other sets. You can't measure or count them in the same way you would with other sets of numbers. It's like they have special powers or something! It's a little tricky to understand, but it's an important concept in advanced math.
