Norbert Wollheim
Norbert Wollheim was a person who was born a long time ago and lived through some very important and difficult times in history. He was born in Germany in the year 1922, and when he was a young man, a very bad man named Adolf Hitler became the leader of Germany.
Hitler believed that certain people, like Norbert and his family, were not good enough to be a part of the country just because of their religion. Norbert was Jewish, which meant that he had different beliefs about God and religious practices than some of the other people in Germany at the time. Hitler wanted to get rid of all the Jewish people, so he made rules and laws to take away everything they owned and make their lives very hard.
When Norbert was just a teenager, he and his family were sent to live in a special area called a ghetto where they were locked up and not allowed to leave. It was not a nice place to live, and many people got sick and died because of the bad conditions.
Norbert was lucky because he was able to escape from the ghetto and hide with some friends who helped him stay safe. He eventually made his way to a new country, where he was able to start a new life and even help other people who were going through similar experiences.
