ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Normal contact stiffness

Normal contact stiffness is how stiff or firm something is when it comes into contact with something else. For example, when you push down on a table and it doesn't move, that's because the normal contact stiffness of the table is very high and it won't bend or move easily. It's like a solid surface that is very stiff and doesn't give you any flexibility.
