Normalization of deviance

Okay, so do you know what deviance means? It's like when someone does something that's not allowed or not safe.

So, let's say there's a person who works in a factory and they're supposed to wear protective gear like a helmet and gloves. But one day, they don't wear their helmet and gloves because they're in a hurry or they forgot. That's deviance because they're not following the rules.

Now, if that same person keeps not wearing their protective gear and nothing bad happens to them, they might start thinking it's okay to not wear it. That's where normalization of deviance comes in.

Normalization of deviance means that when people keep doing something deviant (like not wearing the protective gear), and they don't get caught or don't have any negative consequences, their brain starts to think that it's okay to do it. And soon enough, not wearing the protective gear becomes the new normal.

But the problem is that not wearing the protective gear is still deviant, and it's still not safe. So, if something bad does happen eventually (like they get hurt because they weren't wearing the protective gear), it's going to be really bad because they weren't prepared for it.

That's why it's important to always follow the rules and not let deviant behavior become normal. Because even if we get away with it for a while, eventually something bad is going to happen.
