Notitia Dignitatum

Notitia Dignitatum is a document from about 1600 years ago, written in Latin. It tells us about the Roman army and the governments and officials of the Roman Empire at that time. It lists the kinds of soldiers in the army (how many of each there were and what their jobs were), the people in important government positions, and the landmarks, buildings and boundaries in the Roman Empire. It also explains how the Roman army was organized and how everything worked together. By looking at this document, we can learn about how the Roman Empire was organized, and how it worked.
