Novempopulania

Novempopulania is a fancy word referring to a region that existed a long, long time ago in what is now France. You know how you have your own neighborhood where you live? Well, a looonnnggg time ago, people also had their own neighborhoods in France too. Novempopulania was one of those neighborhoods!

Now, Novempopulania was made up of nine different territories, and that's where the "novem" or "nine" part of the word comes from. These territories had different names like Gascony, Aquitaine, and Toulouse!

People who lived in Novempopulania a long time ago spoke a different language called Basque. It was (and still is) a language that's different from French or English or any other language you may know. So, the people of Novempopulania had their own culture and way of life that was unique to them!

Today, Novempopulania doesn't exist anymore. France has changed a lot since then! But, people still talk about it because it's an important part of history and helps us understand how France, and the world, has changed over time.
