ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nuclear energy policy

Nuclear energy is a type of energy that is made by splitting atoms apart in a special machine called a nuclear reactor. Nuclear energy is used to make electricity and is a clean source of energy, meaning it doesn't create pollution like other types of energy, like burning coal. Nuclear energy policy is a plan for how nuclear energy will be used and managed. The policy could include rules about how nuclear reactors must be built and operated, what type of fuel should be used, and how waste created by reactors should be handled. Governments usually create nuclear energy policies to make sure nuclear energy is used safely and responsibly.
