ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nucleobase

Dear young one, nucleobase is a very important thing in our body, just like the building blocks you use to make your towers and castles! It is a tiny part of our DNA, which is like a long and complicated instruction book that tells our body what to do.

Nucleobase is so small that you can only see it with a special tool called a microscope. It looks like a little ladder with two small steps. The ladder has four different colors, and each color stands for a different letter: A, C, G and T.

These letters are very important because they make up the code in our DNA that tells our body how to build us. Just like the letters in the alphabet make up words, the letters in our DNA make up different instructions for our body to follow.

So, every time you learn a new word or build a new tower, remember that there are tiny little things called nucleobases in your body that are helping you do it!
