Nucleosome

Okay kiddo, so you know how our body has millions of tiny cells that make us who we are, right? Well, inside those cells, there is something called DNA that is like a big instruction manual for our body.

Now, DNA is really really long, like a string that's 6 feet tall! That's way too big to fit inside the tiny cell, so the cell has to do something special to make it fit. It wraps the DNA around tiny balls called nucleosomes. Think of it like wrapping a really big rope around a bunch of small balls.

The nucleosomes are made up of eight little proteins called histones, and the DNA wrapped around them is called chromatin. When the DNA is wrapped around the histones, it becomes more compact and can fit inside the cell.

Now, different parts of the DNA have different instructions, like some parts tell your skin to be a certain color, and other parts tell your eyes how to see. The nucleosomes help to keep all these different parts organized and separated, so your body can read the right instructions at the right time.
