Nutrition analysis is like checking the health of the food that we eat. Just like how a doctor checks our body to make sure we are healthy, nutrition analysis checks the food to make sure it's healthy for us to eat.
You know how we have different types of food like fruits, vegetables, bread, and meat? These foods have different things in them that are good or not so good for our body. Nutrition analysis helps us figure out how much of these good and not-so-good things are in our food.
Some good things in food are called nutrients, like vitamins and minerals. They help our body grow and stay healthy. Some not-so-good things are called things like saturated fat and added sugars. These things can make us unhealthy if we eat too much of them.
To do nutrition analysis, we need to look at the ingredients in the food and see how much of the good and not-so-good things are in there. We use special tools and charts to figure this out.
Then we can tell if the food is a good choice for us to eat or not. We can also figure how much we can eat to keep our body healthy.
