Oil well

Oil wells are places where people find and take out oil from the Earth. Oil wells are a type of drilling project. People build an oil well by digging a very deep hold in the ground and putting a big pipe, called a drill, into it. The drill goes very deep into the ground and pulls out oil, which is then stored in tanks or barrels. People can also use oil wells to put oil back into the ground or to do things like search for natural gas.
