Old Turkic is a very old language that people who lived in Central Asia spoke a long time ago. It was used by many different groups of people who lived in this big area that some people call the "Turkic world." The language looks a lot different from the Turkish language that people speak now because it is really old and has changed a lot throughout history.
The Old Turkic language was first written using a special alphabet called the Orkhon script. This script used special symbols to make words instead of letters like in the English alphabet. The symbols looked like different shapes and lines, almost like drawings. Later on, people changed the Old Turkic alphabet to a new one called the Uighur script, which made it easier to read and write.
Today, not many people speak Old Turkic anymore because it was replaced by other languages like modern Turkish, Uzbek, and Kazakh. However, scientists and historians still study the language to learn about the people who spoke it a long time ago and to understand their culture and way of life.
