Omaha System

The Omaha System is a way of keeping track of the health of patients. It helps doctors, nurses, and other medical staff to learn more about a patient's health, so they can give them the best care possible. The Omaha System is made up of five parts called "Parameters": Health Concerns, Nursing Interventions, Client Outcomes, Educational Objectives, and Community Resources. Each of these Parameters tells the medical staff something about the patient. For example, Health Concerns will tell the medical staff what problems the patient has, Nursing Interventions tell the staff how they can help the patient, Client Outcomes tell the staff what changes they should look for, Educational Objectives tell the staff how they can teach the patient, and Community Resources tell the staff where they can find help outside of their own facility. The Omaha System helps medical staff to keep track of all of this information, so they can better serve their patients.
