Oncofertility

Oncofertility is a way for people who have cancer and might need treatments that could make it hard for them to have babies in the future to still have the chance to have babies.

Doctors and scientists have figured out ways to help people keep their eggs or sperm safe for the future before they get cancer treatments like chemotherapy, which can harm them. This is called fertility preservation. They also help people use those eggs or sperm later on to have a baby.

This is important because some cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiation can damage the eggs or sperm, which could make it difficult or impossible to have babies in the future. So oncofertility helps people freeze and save their eggs or sperm before they start cancer treatments.

Thanks to oncofertility, people who have cancer can still have the opportunity to start a family with their own biological children, even after going through cancer treatments.
