ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Open Database License

Okay, imagine you have a toy box full of Legos. Some of these Legos you made and some your friends made. You want to share your Legos with your friends, but you don't want them to take credit for your hard work.

Now, imagine that the Legos are actually information in a database. The open database license is like a set of rules for sharing this information with others.

It says that you can share the information with your friends, but they have to give you credit for the parts that you made. They can't just take the Legos that you made and say that they made them too.

The open database license also says that your friends can use the information to build new things, but they have to share what they make with you and give you credit.

So, the open database license is a way of making sure that everyone is sharing and giving credit fairly when they use information from a database. Basically, it's like sharing your Legos but making sure you still get credit for the ones you made.
