Alright kiddo, so imagine you are playing with a bunch of marbles on the ground. Some of these marbles are grouped together in a little cluster, while others are scattered far apart.
Now, stars in the sky can do the same thing. When a bunch of stars are formed in the same area in space and are close together, we call them an open cluster. They are like a little family of stars that were born together and are hanging out in the same neighborhood.
Open clusters can look different depending on how many stars are in them, how far away they are, and how old they are. Some can be big and bright, while others can be small and dim. But no matter what they look like, they are all made up of stars that are close together and share a special bond.
