Open sandwich

An open sandwich is a sandwich, but it only has one piece of bread instead of two. That means you can see all the yummy stuff on top of the bread! It's like the bread is a plate!

For example, if you want to make an open sandwich with peanut butter and jelly, you would put one piece of bread on a plate, then you would spread the peanut butter on top of the bread. After that, you would put the jelly on top of the peanut butter. Now, you can see the peanut butter and jelly on top of the bread, and it looks really yummy! You don't need another piece of bread to cover it up, so you can eat it just like that.

Open sandwiches can have all kinds of toppings, like cheese and tomato or ham and lettuce. They are great for when you don't have two pieces of bread or just want to see all the yummy things on top of it!
