Open source

Open source is a way of developing and sharing software. Instead of just one person or company making and selling the software, anyone can work on it together. Open source means that anyone can look at the code (the instructions that make the software work) and change it to make the software better. This idea is like a potluck dinner, where everyone brings something to share and they all get to eat and enjoy it together. Everyone who contributes to open source software gets to use it, and everyone else can use it too, even for free.
