Operation Keelhaul

Operation Keelhaul was a policy during World War II that forced people in the Soviet Union to be sent back to their country and put in prison or forced to work. Basically, people were forced to return to the Soviet Union against their will, and then put in prison or sent to work in labor camps. It was a difficult and scary moment for those people, who had hoped to stay in the countries they had escaped to.
