Operation Ursula was a secret plan made by the British during World War II to try and stop the Germans from invading their country by stopping their ships from bringing supplies. This plan involved sending a group of brave and sneaky sailors to go underwater in submarines in order to put special bombs on the ships. These bombs were known as limpet mines and they could stick to the ships without the Germans even knowing they were there. Once the British sailors put the bombs on the ships, they would swim back to their submarine and wait for the bombs to explode, which would cause the ships to sink and stop the Germans from getting their supplies. The British named this plan Operation Ursula after a character in a storybook they liked. The plan was very dangerous, but the sailors were determined to protect their country and stop the Germans.
