ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Operational Technology

Operational technology (OT) is like a special computer that helps machines and equipment work properly. Just like how you need a brain to be able to move your arms and legs, machines also need a brain to be able to do their jobs.

OT helps machines do things like turn on and off, move in certain directions, and measure things like temperature and pressure. It also makes sure that the machines are working safely.

Think about a roller coaster ride. The OT makes sure that the roller coaster goes up and down at the right speed, doesn't go too fast or slow, and that all the safety measures are in place so the people riding the coaster don't get hurt.

Without OT, machines might not work properly or could even be dangerous to use. OT helps everything run smoothly and safely so we can use machines to make our lives easier.
