ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Operational data store

An operational data store (ODS) is like a big box where we put all the important information that a company needs to keep track of. Just like how we organize our toys in different boxes, the ODS organizes all the information neatly.

The ODS collects information from different places like computer programs and machines that are used in the company. Then, it puts all the information together in one place so it can be easily accessed.

Think of the ODS like a toy box where we put all our toys. We can easily find what we are looking for because all the toys are in one place. In the same way, the ODS makes it easy for the people in the company to find and use the information they need to do their jobs.

So, the ODS is like a big box that holds all of a company's important information, and keeps it organized and easy to access.
