kook

Kook is a term used to describe someone who does not have much experience with a certain activity or sport, and behaves in a way that makes them look silly or foolish and not like they know what they're doing. For example, someone who has never been surfing before might get laughed at by more experienced surfers if they were wearing the wrong clothes, wearing their board the wrong way, or trying to surf in a spot where they could get hurt. The other surfers might call that person a kook.
