ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Optical fiber connector

Optical fiber connectors are like the “doorways” that let light into and out of an optical fiber. Think of them as the special keys that open a locked door so that light can come in and out.

Just like a door and a key, there are different types of connectors and different fibers that need specific connectors. Connectors make sure that the light waves move smoothly through the fibers without getting lost or weakened. This is really important because if the light gets weaker, it will be harder to see or hear the information that is being sent through the fiber.

So, connectors are really important because without them, the information that is being sent through the fiber might not get through to the other end. They make sure that the light waves stay strong and on track, so the information can be sent quickly and clearly.
