ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Opus isodomum

Opus isodomum is a fancy way of saying that bricks (or other building blocks) are stacked in a particular way to make a really strong and stable wall. Imagine you are building a big tower with your blocks. In opus isodomum, you would make sure all the blocks were the same size and shape, and you would stack them so that each row of blocks was perfectly level and straight. This makes the tower very stable because all the blocks fit together perfectly and they are supported by each other. It's kind of like building a really sturdy LEGO castle – you want to make sure all the blocks snap together really tightly so your castle won't fall apart. Opus isodomum is just a fancier version of that concept, but used for building real walls and structures that can last for thousands of years!
