ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ordered logic (linear logic)

Okay kiddo, have you ever tried to clean up your room? You probably picked up toys and put them in a toy box, or books and put them on a bookshelf. You might not have realized it, but you were using a kind of logic to do that. You were thinking about where things should be put so that your room would be neat and tidy.

Well, ordered logic is a kind of logical reasoning that works like cleaning up your room. It's all about organizing things in a certain way so that they make sense. Instead of just putting things anywhere, you have to think about where they should go and how they should be organized.

For example, imagine you have some toys that need to be put away. If you just randomly put them in the toy box, you might not be able to find them later. But if you think about which toys go together (like all the dolls in one spot, and all the cars in another spot), then it will be easier to find them later. That's called organizing them in a logical order.

Now, imagine you have to solve a puzzle. You might need to use ordered logic to figure out the right way to put the pieces together. You might think, "I know this piece has to go on the left side, and this piece has to go on the right side." By using this kind of logical reasoning, you can solve the puzzle and make the pieces fit together perfectly.

So, ordered logic is a way of thinking about how things should be organized and put in a certain order. It's kind of like cleaning up your room or solving a puzzle. By using it, you can make sure that everything makes sense and fits together perfectly!
